Senior Systems Architect

Primary Responsibilities

  • Directs development of applications solutions, and makes recommendations for major systems installations
  • Provides technical and administrative direction for system development tasks
  • Analyzes engineering and data processing issues for application to systems
  • Resolves discrepancies between proposed systems and enterprise quality standards
  • Responsible for total systems technical planning, system integration, and effectiveness analyses
  • Examines customer requirements, develops design strategies and solutions
  • Manages and configures network hardware and software, operating systems and attached devices
  • Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems
  • Designs software specifications and produces software prototypes to demonstrate design application
  • Provides task breakdowns and accurate estimates for project planning
  • Conducts technical training and product briefings with customers
  • Participates in special projects as required

Required Technical Skills

  • Design, implementation and maintenance of network infrastructures
  • Applications architecture in cloud environment
  • Virtualization software and techniques
  • Cisco SME
  • COTS products integration
  • Linux, Unix and Microsoft architectures
  • Global WAN/MAN network topologies
  • Security systems design/implementation
  • Architectural design drawings and topologies utilizing Visio or PowerPoint

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 15+ years of experience in systems architectures including Linux and Microsoft
  • Citrix/VMware certifications in virtualization and networking strongly preferred
  • Superior writing/communication skills for developing position papers and leading architectural discussions
  • Excellent problem solving and analytic skills
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as job duties require
  • Position requires ability to obtain a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship

Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Travel: 10% or less
