Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluates, develops, customizes, installs and supports network systems
- Analyzes network systems, performance, traffic, capacity and metrics
- Designs, installs, maintains and supports LAN, WAN and VOiP infrastructures
- Performs preventative and fault isolation maintenance on networks
- Designs, configures and manages network security features for custom networks
- Configures, monitors, and maintains servers to ensure network and system integrity
- Assists with operational and maintenance phase for as-built systems
- Supports data center operational responsibility
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology
- Helps develop guidelines and procedures for administration and security
- Participates in special projects as required
Required Technical Skills
- Design, implementation, and support of network infrastructures
- Cisco and Juniper router installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance
- Cisco switches and firewalls installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance
- Networking standards and best practices
- Wired and wireless networks
- Application delivery controllers
- Link aggregation, spanning tree, span/rspan
- Troubleshooting using OSI Model
- Security and VPN solutions
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 4+ years of relevant experience in network analysis, design, installation and maintenance
- Experience with engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems
- Detail-oriented with strong problem solving, analytic, and communication skills
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work effectively in a small team environment with strict deadlines
- Self-starter with ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
- Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as job duties demand
- Position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
